Graphic Design Online Adjunct I School of Communication and the Arts

Role overview This part-time, fully remote adjunct position teaches undergraduate and graduate online courses in graphic design within a School of Communication and the Arts. Instructors deliver studio and digital arts content spanning graphic design, animation, design foundations, typography, and web and UX/UI design. The role is associated with a Christian-affiliated institution, and adjuncts are expected to model a personal commitment to a biblically informed Christian worldview and integrate those values into their teaching and scholarship.

Responsibilities - Teach undergraduate and/or graduate students within the online graphic design curriculum using developed lectures, discussions, and assignments aligned with current industry practice. - Manage course materials and provide regular, timely feedback that improves student thinking and execution. - Evaluate student work with detailed critiques and submit grades on schedule, while keeping supervisors informed of student progress. - Stay current with industry trends, software, and emerging technologies in graphic design and adjacent fields. - Perform other duties as assigned to support the program and its students.

Requirements - Master's degree (MA) in Graphic Design, Animation, or 2D Design, with a strong record of professional achievement. - Active practicing designer with industry experience across graphic design, animation, or studio art. - Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard Adobe Creative Suite tools, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. - Skills in print and new media design, animation software, and current design and web development tools. - A portfolio link included on the resume or CV.

Nice to have - MFA with three or more years of full-time online teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels. - For animation instructors, at least 18 graduate hours in 2D and/or 3D animation, 4-5 years of animation experience, and strong knowledge of modeling, rigging, texturing, lighting, animating, storyboarding, and the design process. - Experience with online course development, a publication history in academic or trade journals, and an existing research agenda.
