Senior Mobile Quality Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview Build the quality engineering foundations for a mobile app used across financial products, enabling faster releases without sacrificing confidence. This is an automation-focused engineering role: most work involves writing test frameworks, tooling, and CI improvements while partnering with product, design, and software teams. AI-assisted methods are part of the workflow, with an emphasis on trustworthy results and human review.
Responsibilities - Define a practical mobile test strategy, balancing end-to-end checks with faster unit, component, and logic tests. - Build and maintain mobile end-to-end suites, including test data, device setup, helpers, and reporting. - Integrate tests into continuous integration so pull requests and release candidates receive fast, useful feedback. - Reduce flaky tests and shorten diagnosis time by addressing root causes rather than relying on retries. - Apply AI tools to test authoring, failure grouping, coverage analysis, and proposed fixes; establish sensible review practices. - Work with product and engineering early to clarify acceptance criteria, assess risk, and connect production issues to test coverage; perform targeted exploratory testing when useful.
Requirements - Six or more years in quality engineering or test automation, with a record of maintaining reliable automated suites. - Hands-on experience with Maestro or Detox, or strong end-to-end testing experience and a credible path to mobile proficiency. - Experience introducing AI-assisted testing with appropriate controls for review and trust. - Strong TypeScript and JavaScript skills, including building test helpers and tooling. - Experience improving CI/CD reliability, including flakiness, parallelization, artifacts, or runtime management. - Ability to work independently and drive improvements across frameworks, CI, test data, and reporting.
Nice to have - React Native testing experience; mobile performance or reliability work; or API and contract testing expertise, including test data and environment strategy.
Benefits and work setup - Work arrangements vary by role: hybrid positions require three office days weekly, while remote positions include periodic in-person gatherings. - Benefits include private health coverage, retirement savings plans, social events, and referral rewards. Some locations also offer office meals and sustainable commuting programs; availability varies by location and role.
