PHP Engineer

Role overview Join a US lending product team as a mid-level PHP engineer, contributing to a new product built on an established platform. The work spans customer-facing API development, improvements to lending systems, and architectural decisions in collaboration with experienced engineers.

Responsibilities - Build and integrate APIs that improve the customer lending journey. - Develop features for a new product using an existing platform and codebase. - Improve the performance and capabilities of lending systems. - Take part in technical and architectural discussions, and own work with a high degree of autonomy. - Write and maintain automated tests across unit, integration, and functional levels.

Requirements - At least three years of engineering experience, including hands-on use of PHP 8 or later. - Practical knowledge of a modern PHP framework such as Symfony or Laravel. - Experience with Domain-Driven Design. - Strong automated testing skills; relevant tools include PHPUnit and Behat. - A business-oriented approach, willingness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively.

Nice to have - Experience building financial systems. - Familiarity with message-driven architectures and event sourcing. - Exposure to PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and automated deployment workflows.
