Engineering Manager: Agent & Developer Platform
Job details
About this role
Role overview Hands-on engineering manager leading a small platform team (4–6 engineers) at a tech-driven equity management and financial reporting platform serving private and public companies. The mission is to build the infrastructure, CI/CD, developer tooling, and security foundations that allow both human engineers and AI agents to ship code reliably. You will report to the Head of Engineering and partner closely with security leadership.
Responsibilities - Lead and develop a team of platform engineers, setting technical direction and supporting their growth - Own and improve CI/CD pipelines so they are fast, reliable, and optimized for both human and AI-agent workflows (opening PRs, reviewing, shipping) - Manage GCP infrastructure, Terraform configuration, monitoring, and alerting, and define SLOs for production visibility - Partner with security leadership to shape and execute a security strategy appropriate for a regulated fintech serving enterprise clients - Build agent-aware platform capabilities, including an MCP-style interface, agent identity and access models, and sandbox or dry-run environments - Translate product and platform vision into implemented infrastructure that the wider engineering organisation depends on
Requirements - 3+ years of engineering management experience and 6+ years as a software engineer, with substantial time in platform, infrastructure, or DevOps roles - Strong opinions on CI/CD, deployment automation, observability, and infrastructure-as-code - A security-minded approach, particularly around AI agents operating in production and handling sensitive financial data - Comfort remaining hands-on: building with Terraform, debugging pipelines, and shipping improvements yourself - Active use of AI tools to multiply your own output - Genuine interest in developing engineers through coaching, 1:1s, and career conversations
Nice to have - Experience designing agent-friendly developer platforms, MCP interfaces, or identity models that distinguish human from agent actions in audit logs
Benefits and work setup Flexible working hours, 25 days of vacation, up to 40 days of remote work from outside your home country, a generous yearly learning and development budget, and a competitive salary plus benefits plus equity. Hybrid model of 2 days per week in the office for candidates based in London or Zurich.
