About this role
Role overview Build AI products and shared platform capabilities for a financial software product used to manage company equity and reporting. You’ll develop an in-product assistant that can take actions and analyze live equity data, make its capabilities available through an MCP server, and create the evaluation and infrastructure needed to keep these systems accurate, observable, and dependable as they grow. The role includes customer research and ownership of technical direction alongside engineering, product, and design partners.
Responsibilities - Design the tools, context, skills, and orchestration that let an AI agent handle real customer workflows. - Build an MCP server that exposes useful capabilities to customers’ existing AI tools, with appropriate safeguards. - Create evaluations, tracing, and feedback systems to measure agent quality and guide improvements. - Develop reusable platform foundations so other teams can add AI features safely. - Improve backend reliability, observability, cost, and latency as agent usage scales. - Learn from customers and help set product and technical priorities; mentor engineers and advise teams adopting AI.
Requirements - Five or more years of software engineering experience, with strong TypeScript and Node.js skills across backend and frontend work. - Production experience building and operating agentic or LLM-based software, such as an assistant or chat product. - Ability to investigate real-world model or agent failures and manage performance, cost, and latency. - The source describes these as qualities for thriving in the role and notes that candidates need not meet every item.
