About this role
Role overview This is a client-facing Solutions Engineer role responsible for owning partner integrations from initial discovery through production rollout and long-term support. The position bridges business development, product, and engineering teams to unblock deals, expand platform support, and continuously improve the merchant experience. It is ideal for someone who thrives on translating complex technical concepts into partner-ready guidance while driving cross-functional process improvements.
Responsibilities - Lead each new integration end to end, spanning discovery, design, build, quality assurance, and release. - Maintain deep expertise across every existing integration pattern, configuration, and partner implementation. - Develop a full understanding of the underlying platform, including how applications move from origination through approval, checkout, and funding. - Serve as the first line of defense for partner-submitted issues, using observability tools to triage and prioritize tickets. - Support rollouts to new merchants and collaborate with sales to identify expansion opportunities. - Identify and own enhancement opportunities in existing integrations, partnering closely with engineering, product, and sales teams.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree preferred in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field. - Six or more years in a technical, client-facing role such as Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Integration Engineer, or Technical Consultant. - Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and common integration patterns, with the ability to reason about system interactions and pinpoint failure points. - Familiarity with at least one programming language (such as Go, JavaScript, or Python) sufficient to read code samples and speak confidently with developers. - Proficiency with SQL and troubleshooting tools such as Postman, Elasticsearch, or Fullstory to investigate issues and quantify impact. - Excellent written and verbal communication, especially in structured documentation and integration guides.
Nice to have - Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento) or point-of-sale systems. - Interest in using AI tools to accelerate triage and investigation work. - Comfort designing better partner communication workflows, ticketing processes, and automation opportunities that reduce manual effort.
Benefits and work setup - Base salary range of $132,000 to $170,000 per year, depending on experience and location, plus eligibility for a company bonus plan. - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. - Twenty paid time off days plus eleven paid holidays annually. - 401(k) retirement plan with company matching. - Student loan and tuition reimbursement, commuter assistance, and parental leave for both parents. - Remote-friendly setup: candidates throughout the United States may apply, with hybrid or in-office options available near Richmond, VA or Arlington, VA offices.
