Consultant - Senior Privacy Analyst

Role overview

Lead the development of a Canada-focused Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) program for a large, complex organization. You will work with privacy engineering and business teams to understand how data is collected, used, stored, and shared, then convert that information into accurate, structured documentation. This is an independent, stakeholder-facing consulting engagement with a substantial amount of coordination and follow-through.

Responsibilities

- Establish and expand a Canadian ROPA program using existing global structures and templates as a starting point. - Run discovery and requirements sessions with stakeholders across approximately 10–12 business units. - Document relevant systems, processes, data flows, and handling practices for each business area. - Draft, review, and maintain ROPA entries so they accurately reflect Canada-specific operations. - Track open questions and deliverables across more than 24 stakeholders, with clear ownership and deadlines. - Communicate directly with senior business contacts, report progress and blockers in daily standups, and identify when requests fall outside the intended scope of an entry.

Requirements

- Hands-on experience building or maintaining ROPAs in North America or a comparable regulatory environment. - Experience owning ROPA delivery within a privacy, governance, risk, and compliance, or privacy engineering program. - Strong ability to organize detailed work across many concurrent stakeholders and follow up consistently. - Confidence communicating independently with senior leaders, including vice-president-level contacts. - Ability to work with light day-to-day oversight while keeping program leadership informed. - Familiarity with principle-based privacy frameworks such as Quebec Law 25 or GDPR is helpful but not essential.

- Experience creating a privacy or ROPA program for a new country or region. - Background supporting large, multi-line-of-business organizations. - Consulting or client-facing experience as a trusted external advisor. - Comfort working within a defined-duration engagement and shaping your workload independently.
