Engineering Manager

Role overview

This Engineering Manager role leads cross-functional engineering teams building a high-performance, latency-sensitive trading platform. The position blends people leadership, delivery ownership, and technical direction across hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure. Responsibilities

- Lead one or more cross-functional teams spanning backend, frontend, infrastructure, and mobile - Own delivery quality, technical outcomes, and strategic engineering initiatives - Partner with product, trading, and senior engineering leadership to translate business requirements into execution plans - Evolve engineering processes including planning, estimation, CI/CD, code reviews, testing, and release management - Guide architectural decisions for systems running on hybrid infrastructure and ensure observability and high availability in production - Hire, onboard, mentor, and grow engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, and performance reviews

Requirements

- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience - 3+ years in an Engineering Manager role - Background in financial systems, trading platforms, or other high-reliability domains - Strong understanding of backend systems - Hands-on experience operating cloud infrastructure such as EC2, including networking, security, and monitoring - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, observability tooling, and performance monitoring

Nice to have

- Experience with on-premise and hybrid infrastructure environments - Hands-on Ruby experience - Background in low-latency or high-throughput systems - Exposure to trading, fintech, or market-data platforms - Experience scaling teams and infrastructure-as-code tooling
