Senior Product Manager (JetBrains Context)

Role overview A senior product role owning a retrieval and context layer that gives AI coding agents structured knowledge of a codebase before they write code. The position is hands-on and technical, working directly with engineering and machine learning teams rather than focusing on slide-based product management.

Responsibilities - Define and defend a clear product vision for the context layer, including target audiences, use cases, and success metrics - Partner closely with engineering and ML teams on indexing pipelines, retrieval quality, and reranking behavior - Translate strategy into concrete problem statements, priorities, milestones, and definitions of done - Work with adjacent product teams on integrations and with marketing, developer relations, sales, and customer success on positioning - Define and track operational metrics such as index freshness, retrieval quality, agent outcomes, adoption, and unit economics - Represent the product externally through roadmaps, written updates, conference talks, and community feedback

Requirements - Proven experience owning a complex developer, platform, or infrastructure product end to end, including strategy and roadmap - Hands-on familiarity with modern AI coding tools and agent workflows - Technical depth across embeddings, retrieval quality, sub-agents, tool-calling, indexing costs, and API design - Ability to define metrics for quality-sensitive products and build sustainable evaluation habits - Strong communication skills across engineers, leadership, enterprise architects, and external audiences - A data-informed approach that blends telemetry, evaluation, customer conversations, and market signals

Nice to have - Practical experience with search, retrieval, RAG, developer search, or static analysis at scale
