About this role
Role overview Hybrid or on-site Cloud Data Engineer role based in New York, supporting a healthcare organization whose mission centers on enabling people to live fuller lives. The position owns the Snowflake data warehouse environment and adjacent cloud data infrastructure, designing ingestion pipelines, models, and integrations while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance for analytics consumers across the business.
Responsibilities - Manage and support the Snowflake data warehouse and maintain the performance of ingestion pipelines and models. - Design and implement new data source ingestions, models, and automated extract distributions. - Resolve data infrastructure outages and provide advanced troubleshooting for complex data issues. - Monitor and optimize system performance, collaborating on disaster recovery plans and maintaining comprehensive architecture documentation. - Partner with cross-functional teams to translate analytical needs into reliable, well-modeled data solutions.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and three or more years in data architecture or engineering. - Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake and proven ability to manage cloud-based data infrastructures. - Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and integration, plus excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - Technical proficiency with APIs, ETL tools such as Apache, Talend, or Informatica, and scripting in Python, Java, Scala, Bash, or PowerShell. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and with Azure DevOps.
Nice to have - Snowflake or related technology certifications, experience with DBT or Alation, and familiarity with analytics and BI tools.
