Role overview
This remote position focuses on delivering IT support across a range of systems and client environments, combining hands-on troubleshooting with customer-facing communication. The role serves as an escalation point for technicians and supports both onsite and remote operations, with on-call coverage for after-hours and weekend support.
Responsibilities
- Independently resolve workstation operating system, printer, and standard business application issues such as Microsoft Office - Diagnose server, network, and line-of-business application issues, escalating to vendors for niche software when needed - Act as an escalation point for other technicians handling complex cases across diverse client environments - Configure firewall rules, VLANs, access points, and VPN tunnels as part of ongoing network administration - Participate in an on-call rotation providing after-hours and weekend support for both onsite and remote operations - Track performance against KPIs including first-touch ticket closure, utilization, and customer satisfaction scores
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role - Hands-on experience with Windows and macOS troubleshooting, plus Windows Server 2012 through 2022 - Working knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V, and administration of Microsoft 365 and Azure - Proficiency in firewalls, switches, network architecture, and troubleshooting virtualized and networked environments - A home office meeting specified hardware, internet, and audio/video equipment requirements with reliable connectivity - Strong English written and verbal communication skills, with availability to work scheduled hours in U.S. Pacific Time
Nice to have
- Prior experience working within a Managed Service Provider environment - Active network certifications, or credentials such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or a 3CX certification
