AI Research Scientist

Role overview

This is a remote position for a senior researcher who will drive end-to-end work on modern artificial intelligence systems, taking ideas from the research bench all the way to deployed products. The focus spans retrieval, large language models, and agent-based systems, with an emphasis on applied research that produces shipping artifacts rather than purely theoretical outputs.

Responsibilities

- Design, run, and iterate on research experiments, translating findings into working systems - Build novel approaches for retrieval, LLMs, and agents when existing solutions are insufficient - Develop rigorous evaluation protocols and analyze results with publication-quality discipline - Partner with engineering teams to deploy research outputs into production environments - Document experiments, share learnings internally, and contribute to the team's collective knowledge

Requirements

- Five or more years of experience in AI/ML research or applied research with measurable production impact - Strong methodological rigor, including clear hypotheses, ablations, and thoughtful evaluation design - Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of modern deep learning frameworks - Hands-on experience with large language models, retrieval systems, or agent architectures - Ability to move quickly from a research prototype to a deployable artifact

Nice to have

- Background in efficient inference, quantization, or serving optimization - Experience working with multimodal models
