Role overview
A senior specialist position on an Epic Solution Delivery team focused on Patient Access, supporting complex configuration and development across multiple Epic modules. The role acts as a key liaison between technical teams and stakeholders, mentoring less experienced analysts while shaping the long-term direction of Epic system enhancements in a healthcare IT environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex design and configuration work, including workflow assessments and advanced Epic solutions for custom workflows or integrations, and review detailed requirements for proper implementation. - Support project management tasks such as planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for Epic implementation projects; take ownership of specific features or smaller development initiatives end to end. - Provide mentorship and day-to-day guidance to Analysts and Senior Analysts on project tasks, troubleshooting approaches, and Epic configuration best practices. - Drive quality assurance and testing by validating that systems meet user requirements and resolving complex issues independently with minimal supervision. - Engage directly with internal stakeholders and end users to clarify requirements and deliver knowledge transfer and training on delivered build solutions. - Propose innovative ideas that improve system efficiency and user experience, and provide regular feedback to Epic on potential product enhancements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT, Epic product development, or enterprise software delivery. - 5+ years of Epic experience with deep technical knowledge across multiple Epic modules, including system configuration, workflows, and best practices. - Associate's degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience. - Active Epic certification in one or more relevant applications, completed and maintained, with Cadence and Prelude listed as required. - Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead smaller project teams and development initiatives without direct supervision. - Strong project management, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills, with the agility to adapt to changing business needs.
