About this role
Role overview
Shape how customers choose and experience delivery and pickup by using data science to improve a two-sided marketplace. Responsibilities
- Design and analyze experiments across marketplace and enterprise experiences, adapting methods to the question at hand. - Measure tradeoffs among delivery speed, reliability, cost, and customer experience, then recommend product or strategy changes. - Link operational changes to outcomes such as growth, retention, and efficiency. - Work with product, engineering, and operations partners to clarify complex systems and identify high-impact questions. - Build metrics, automation, and experimentation tools that help teams work more effectively. - Present clear findings and recommendations to decision-makers and technical partners.
Requirements
- At least 5 years in a quantitative role at a product company or research organization. - Experience owning ambiguous, cross-functional problems through to decisions that influence roadmaps or leadership. - Ability to design rigorous experiments and make scientifically grounded recommendations. - Strong SQL skills and ability to program in Python or R. - Skill in turning open-ended business needs into analytical frameworks and measurable outcomes. - Flexibility, curiosity, and a willingness to adapt in a changing environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with multi-sided marketplaces, product experimentation, or experimentation tools and processes. - Background building or evaluating statistical, machine learning, or optimization models; familiarity with geospatial data is useful. - Graduate degree in statistics, economics, operations research, applied mathematics, or a related field.
