Role overview
A senior product leadership role directing the fulfillment engine behind a large multi-sided grocery and household goods marketplace. The position owns the multi-year strategy for how orders are batched, routed, matched, and priced across the platform, balancing customer experience, worker earnings, and overall marketplace efficiency. It is a highly visible role with executive sponsorship, partnering closely with engineering, machine learning, data science, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Set the multi-year product vision, strategy, and roadmap for logistics, spanning service coverage, delivery speed, order batching, routing, worker matching, positioning, and pay. - Partner with executive leadership to prioritize and translate complex tradeoffs into clear narratives that align the broader organization. - Build and ship 0-to-1 products that create joint value across customers, fulfillment workers, and retailers while improving efficiency, speed, and quality at scale. - Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing team of product managers, including establishing operating rhythms and growth frameworks. - Define success metrics and run a disciplined experimentation portfolio using data, first-principles reasoning, and user research to inform hard tradeoffs. - Collaborate with engineering and ML leadership on high-stakes technical decisions, anticipating where to invest ahead of obvious business signal.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product management experience, including 4+ years managing and developing product managers (including senior PMs). - Strong marketplace or systems thinking, with the ability to reason about multi-sided interactions and long-term versus short-term tradeoffs. - Track record leading multi-quarter initiatives that delivered measurable business outcomes such as cost, speed, or quality improvements. - Technical fluency with ML- and algorithms-driven products, comfortable working through complex tradeoffs with engineering and ML leaders. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence executives and align cross-functional teams. - Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing PMs and build healthy, high-trust teams.
Nice to have
- Experience in a multi-sided dynamic marketplace, including envisioning or evaluating algorithm-based products. - Background in logistics, fulfillment, supply chain, or operationally complex physical environments. - Experience with e-commerce or grocery technology.
