Developer Team Lead

Role overview Lead a small, senior, highly autonomous web product engineering team building a cloud platform that manages the full lifecycle of construction and real estate development projects. The role blends hands-on coding, technical leadership, and people management, partnering with experienced engineers rather than supervising juniors. You will also drive AI adoption inside your team and shape what gets built using customer insight.

Responsibilities - Run regular 1:1s, support engineer growth, lead compensation and career conversations, and own performance reviews - Drive team-level planning and prioritization together with Product and Design partners - Champion the team's AI adoption: experiment with tools and workflows, standardize what works, and share broadly across engineering - Stay hands-on: write and review code, set architectural direction inside a large modular monolith, and decide what to build and in what order - Continuously improve the codebase by reducing legacy code, expanding test coverage, and keeping dependencies current - Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and process design that keeps a senior team synchronized without adding bureaucracy

Requirements - Prior people-management experience leading developers, including 1:1s, performance conversations, and team processes - Strong backend engineering in PHP 8.1+ with Laravel or Symfony, plus experience building large, scalable applications - Demonstrated technical leadership, including making architectural decisions rather than only executing them - Daily use of AI tools in engineering work, with the energy to push adoption further across the team - Product mindset that focuses on the "why" and business impact, not only on implementation - Solid testing experience with PHPUnit across unit, integration, and functional layers - English at B2 level or higher

Nice to have - Experience with modular monoliths or microservices - Practical Domain-Driven Design background - SaaS experience on large systems such as ERP, CRM, or CMS - Background in startups or scale-ups where engineers shape product decisions
