Backend Engineer

Role overview Develop backend services that support campaign workflows, approvals, payment handling, and activity tracking. The role covers APIs, data design, security, and reliability, with opportunities to contribute to architecture as the product and its workflows grow.

Responsibilities - Design scalable backend services and REST APIs for product features. - Build campaign, approval, workflow, payment, and escrow functionality. - Model data, design database schemas, and improve query performance. - Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls. - Integrate external services and build background jobs, queues, or event-driven processes as needed. - Monitor and debug services, improve reliability, and deliver maintainable, documented code with the wider team.

Requirements - At least two years of professional backend development experience. - Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript or JavaScript. - Experience building and maintaining production REST APIs. - Understanding of data modeling and databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB. - Knowledge of API security, authentication, authorization, and asynchronous processing. - Familiarity with payment transactions, Git, and modern development practices; able to debug complex issues.
