Senior DevOps Engineer (GitOps)

Role overview Own the design and operation of cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and platform tooling for production services. This senior, hands-on role focuses on AWS, Kubernetes, and GitOps, combining technical decisions and operational reliability with improvements to the developer experience and guidance for the wider engineering team.

Responsibilities - Build and operate secure, scalable AWS infrastructure, including services such as ECS, MSK, and ECR. - Maintain production Kubernetes clusters, including deployments, scaling, observability, and upgrades. - Administer and improve GitLab and its CI/CD pipelines; promote versioned, reviewed, reproducible infrastructure and application changes. - Manage infrastructure as code and container workloads, with attention to consistent environments, image security, and build performance. - Develop automation and tooling, and help teams use AI coding assistants effectively in engineering work. - Join incident response and root-cause reviews, improve reliability and observability, and troubleshoot database performance.

Requirements - At least five years of experience in senior DevOps engineering or site reliability engineering. - Strong hands-on AWS experience, especially ECS, MSK, ECR, IAM, and VPC networking. - Production Kubernetes experience and a record of administering GitLab CI/CD systems. - Understanding of GitOps practices and in-depth Docker knowledge. - Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and database performance tuning. - Proficiency in a programming language; Java is preferred, with Python or Go also suitable. Practical experience with AI coding assistants is expected.

Nice to have - Pulumi, Keycloak, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or columnar database experience. - Experience designing highly available systems or operating gateways for LLM services.
