Senior System Administrator/ Developer (DISA)

Role overview Lead system administration for a large-scale defense contract writing application hosted across DISA's Impact Level 5 Appian Government Cloud and Stratus cloud environments. This is a senior, Key Personnel role focused on keeping production systems patched, secure, compliant, and operational, while serving as the named alternate to the ISSO for STIG, ACAS, and IAVA execution.

Responsibilities - Direct system administration across Performance, Staging, and Development environments, coordinating closely with the Database Administrator and ISSO. - Administer RHEL, Apache HTTP, Oracle Java, and Oracle WebLogic, including system builds, decommissions, account management, security groups, and file permissions. - Manage application-layer components in Staging and Production (Appian, Oracle applications, WebLogic), submitting Enterprise Change Requests to the Change Advisory Board and DISA OS, database, and web administration groups. - Test and document security patches for RHEL, Apache, Appian, Java, WebLogic, Oracle Service Bus, Tomcat, and ANT in lower environments, then schedule production deployment through the hosting provider's Application Service Interruption process. - Serve as the named ISSO alternate for STIG checklist reviews, ACAS/HBSS findings, IAVA remediation, and POA&M inputs. - Manage the DoD PKI certificate lifecycle, including CSRs, installation, expiration tracking, CRL updates, and revocation handling. - Automate log inspection via shell scripting and Splunk, producing ranked risk and trend reports. - Maintain server application components within two releases of the vendor baseline and produce system administration documentation, SOPs, SSP inputs, diagrams, and troubleshooting guides. - Support the base-year effort to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate.

Requirements - 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux in production. - 5+ years administering Oracle WebLogic Server. - Hands-on experience patching, tuning, and securing Apache HTTP and Java applications. - Demonstrated DISA STIG implementation, ACAS remediation, and IAVA compliance within a DoD RMF environment. - DoD PKI and SSL/TLS certificate management experience. - Bash scripting for automation and proficiency with Splunk or comparable log analysis tools. - Experience working through formal change control in a government-hosted environment. - Active Secret clearance and participation on at least two large-scale application administration projects.

Nice to have - Oracle Service Bus and Apache Tomcat administration experience. - Prior DISA, Stratus cloud, or hosting coordination experience. - Familiarity with Appian Cloud administration and eMASS, HBSS/ENS workflows. - RHCSA or RHCE certification.
