Database Administrator (DISA)

Role overview A fully remote, USA-based Database Administrator position supporting mission-critical telecommunications contracting systems for a federal defense agency. The role spans steady-state Oracle administration on a production system and data design plus legacy migration work for a next-generation modernization effort built on a low-code platform. An active Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities - Install, maintain, and tune Oracle database instances for the production system, coordinating with the hosting provider and agency database administrators - Define and enforce database security standards, manage access, and lead outage troubleshooting alongside disaster recovery operations - Test and deploy Oracle security patches and version upgrades, applying configuration changes in coordination with the Information Systems Security Officer - Validate database security posture against ACAS and HBSS scan results, complete Oracle Database STIG checklist reviews, and apply IAVA patches - Design database schemas and data models for the next-generation low-code application delivered each sprint - Analyze, script, map, and validate migration of legacy contract data, including reconciliation of migrated records - Maintain refresh schedules that capture cross-agency interdependencies and route changes through Enterprise Change Requests

Requirements - 5+ years as a production Oracle Database Administrator on a currently supported Oracle release - Advanced SQL and PL/SQL, plus working knowledge of MySQL or MariaDB SQL - Oracle backup and recovery using RMAN, and performance tuning using AWR and ASH - Hands-on data migration experience covering source-to-target mapping, transformation scripting, and record reconciliation - Oracle Database STIG implementation within a DoD Risk Management Framework environment - Experience on at least two projects administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale database in a large organization

Nice to have - Oracle high availability experience with RAC and/or Data Guard - Familiarity with low-code data stores, record types, data sync, or connecting external databases to a managed cloud - Experience operating databases in managed cloud environments such as AWS GovCloud or Amazon RDS - Prior experience on similar large federal defense telecommunications contracting programs - Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) credential - Comfort with Splunk or comparable log analysis tools
