Senior Business Applications Engineer

Role overview

Build secure, reliable business applications and integrations that help teams work together and reduce manual processes. This senior individual contributor partners across departments, owning solutions from problem discovery and design through delivery, production support, and eventual retirement.

Responsibilities - Interview stakeholders and map workflows to clarify needs, affected users, and measures of success. - Choose and explain a suitable approach, weighing native platform features, integration tools, and custom automation. - Build and maintain integrations with resilient error handling, monitoring, and auditable data flows; create custom cloud automation when needed. - Design advanced workflows, fields, and service management configurations across collaboration and work-management platforms. - Set standards and reusable patterns for a governed automation platform, and review automations built by other teams. - Apply least-privilege access, mentor administrators, document support procedures, and report on delivery, reliability, and adoption.

Requirements - Experience leading complex solutions from requirements gathering through production support, with limited supervision. - Hands-on experience building and maintaining integrations on an iPaaS platform; experience with Workato is preferred. - Working knowledge of APIs, webhooks, data models, REST, and event-driven integration patterns, plus the ability to script or code when required. - Familiarity with business application configuration, workflow automation, and secure credential handling. - Ability to communicate tradeoffs and technical designs clearly, collaborate across teams, and support or mentor technical administrators.

Nice to have - Experience with Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, AWS automation, or business-focused AI tools. - Familiarity with role-based access controls, service accounts, and privacy-conscious integration design.
