Role overview
This position administers identity, collaboration, and productivity tooling for a U.S. federal environment, with secondary support for broader commercial IT services. Based remotely, the role owns the configuration and upkeep of the federal Okta instance, federal Slack, and Google Workspace, while serving as the first line of IT support for federal end-users and helping align processes across federal and commercial environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead configuration and maintenance of the federal Okta instance, covering identity lifecycle management and SSO integrations. - Manage and tune Gov Slack and Google Workspace, focusing on permissions, shared drives, and secure communication channels. - Provide front-line tiered support for federal end-users, troubleshooting access and software issues specific to the federal environment. - Author and maintain knowledge-base articles and SOPs for federal system usage. - Provide secondary support for commercial IT services and infrastructure as part of the broader IT team. - Help synchronize workflows between federal and commercial environments to keep internal operations seamless. - Oversee access control by managing user permissions and running regular access audits. - Participate in IT security investigations and audits to confirm federal systems meet required regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, military service equivalent, or applicable certifications. - 1–3 years of experience managing IT systems, with a focus on SaaS identity and collaboration tools. - Demonstrated proficiency administering Okta, Slack, and Google Workspace. - Strong troubleshooting skills for access and software issues in a remote-first environment. - Clear verbal and written communication for user support and technical documentation. - Authorization to work in the U.S. and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; ability to pass a criminal background check.
