Engineering Manager, EDR
Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead an engineering team that turns findings from security assessments into practical endpoint detection and response (EDR) capabilities. You’ll guide backend engineers and security specialists, shape how the team works as it grows, and coordinate delivery with product partners and a senior technical lead who owns architecture. This is a technical management role focused on enabling the team rather than being its primary coder.
Responsibilities - Hire, mentor, and develop engineers and security practitioners, with clear growth paths. - Translate EDR workflows and ambiguous goals into usable product requirements and sequenced delivery plans. - Coordinate roadmap and priorities with product, the technical lead, and engineering partners. - Track dependencies, manage scope, and raise delivery risks and tradeoffs early. - Establish design review, release, on-call, and incident response practices. - Stay engaged in technical decisions to challenge assumptions and help unblock the team.
Requirements - Experience leading backend or platform engineering teams in a highly technical environment. - Enough EDR or security operations familiarity to work effectively with domain experts. - A record of delivering to fixed dates while managing ambiguity and scope. - Strong stakeholder and dependency management across engineering teams. - Understanding of security and reliability practices for multi-tenant SaaS. - Experience partnering with a senior technical lead and maintaining quality under schedule pressure.
Nice to have - Background in security operations, detection engineering, or offensive security. - Experience with production agentic or LLM-backed systems, including their failure modes. - Leadership of an internal platform team or exposure to event-driven systems such as Kafka, Pulsar, Kinesis, or Flink.
Benefits and work setup The role is remote. Full-time employees are eligible for stock options; the listing also mentions medical coverage, flexible vacation, and parental leave.
