Role overview
This Director-level position leads a software engineering and support function within an IT organization, owning the stability, efficiency, and incremental advancement of digital platforms. The role centers on translating business priorities into firm technical decisions, accelerating the team's adoption of agentic AI-assisted development, and serving as the bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and prioritize incoming requests based on business impact, urgency, and technical feasibility, building a structured framework that balances mission-critical support with continuous improvement - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for support, defect resolution, and small system enhancements - Champion the use of agentic AI development tools across the team to improve productivity, creativity, and skill development - Establish and refine processes for managing defects, incidents, and enhancement requests, including ticketing workflows, resolution timelines, and stakeholder communication - Analyze trends in support and enhancement requests to surface proactive improvements and efficiency gains - Communicate trade-offs, realistic timelines, and risks to senior stakeholders while advocating for business value over reactive task execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field - 6+ years of IT leadership experience managing digital operations, technical support, and system enhancements - Proven track record of making strategic prioritization decisions that deliver measurable business value - Hands-on proficiency with agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex, including prompt and context engineering - Familiarity with modern ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps) and IT service management practices - Strong people leadership skills with the ability to set firm expectations and influence senior leaders diplomatically
Nice to have
- Experience leading IT support and continuous improvement teams in a large enterprise environment - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), ITIL frameworks, and Agile methodologies - Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent process-improvement credential - Metrics-driven decision-making and process optimization expertise
Benefits and work setup
- Salary range: $105,200 - $147,950, commensurate with experience and location
