Data Engineer II

Role overview Develop and maintain business applications and processes as a mid-level engineer, contributing across the full software lifecycle. The role includes independent delivery of many development and support tasks, coordination with engineering, DevOps, and business partners, and guidance for less experienced colleagues.

Responsibilities - Gather and clarify requirements, then contribute to analysis, design, documentation, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. - Maintain applications through enhancements, upgrades, patches, troubleshooting, and defect fixes. - Diagnose system issues and improve application performance, reliability, and quality. - Work with DevOps on CI/CD practices that support repeatable releases. - Research technologies and contribute to proofs of concept for new initiatives and existing systems. - Maintain shared development packages, support cross-department improvements, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements - A technical degree or equivalent practical experience. - Two to four years of experience analyzing requirements, developing software, and writing code. - Strong understanding of software development and project lifecycle practices. - Proficiency in relevant programming, web development, scripting, or protocol technologies. - Ability to complete work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. - Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Nice to have - Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, SQL Server, Python, Azure DevOps, Power BI, or R. - Experience creating or maintaining shared NuGet or npm packages.
