Solutions Engineer II
Job details
About this role
Role overview A Solutions Engineer is needed to own the post-sale technical relationship for an IoT connectivity platform handling billions of monthly transactions. The role spans customer onboarding, L2 escalation work, and the internal automation that keeps deployments and the team running efficiently.
Responsibilities - Own customer onboarding end to end, from SIM provisioning and device configuration through to a live, stable production deployment. - Diagnose and resolve SIM, device, and network-level connectivity issues across the deployment lifecycle, partnering with engineering on systemic problems. - Lead automation work across the team: identify manual workflows worth eliminating and build them away. - Improve and automate the technical onboarding path, including SIM order intake, provisioning, and connectivity setup. - Build account-health monitoring and alerting for the Account Management team, and maintain internal AI-driven support tooling alongside its documentation. - Advocate for customers internally by surfacing product gaps and technical pain points to product and engineering. - Author runbooks so work can be handed off cleanly, and extend automation across SIM order intake, billing configuration and reconciliation, and renewal administration with Revenue Operations.
Requirements - 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or Technical Consultant, including ownership of onboarding through production. - Solid understanding of cellular networks, IoT devices, various Radio Access Technologies, and communication protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and MQTT. - Working experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python or Ruby), SQL, and REST APIs. - Track record of building automations or integrations against real operational workflows, plus experience applying AI tooling to support or onboarding workflows. - Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences. - Comfort working independently across a wide range of technical problems and defining your own approach on work without an established process.
Nice to have - Familiarity with Salesforce or a comparable CRM, and an understanding of how record hygiene affects downstream reporting.
Benefits and work setup Target salary range of $135,000 to $150,000 plus a new-hire equity grant (RSUs). Remote-first culture with flexible health coverage (up to 100% employee, 95% dependents), unlimited PTO with a two-week mandatory minimum, monthly mental health days, 14 weeks paid parental leave, a $1,000 hiring bonus plus $250/month taxable work-from-home stipend, fully covered life and disability insurance, a 401(k), and a Professional Development Fund available after one year.
