Role overview A senior leadership role overseeing the pre-sales function for a SaaS security platform, partnering closely with sales, product, and engineering to win complex enterprise deals. The position blends hands-on technical engagement with strategic planning, leading a team of sales engineers and solution architects who run demos, proofs of concept, and tailored solution designs.
Responsibilities - Lead and grow the pre-sales team, including sales engineers and solution architects, setting strategy and aligning the function with company revenue goals - Partner with sales to understand customer needs, design tailored solutions, and deliver compelling demonstrations, presentations, and proof-of-concept engagements - Build trusted-advisor relationships with prospects and customers, translating business challenges into technical value narratives - Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing to keep the pre-sales team equipped on capabilities, use cases, and competitive positioning - Mentor and develop the team through coaching, training, and ongoing career support, keeping skills current with industry trends - Refine pre-sales processes, methodologies, and tooling, and use metrics such as win rate, POC success, and time-to-close to drive improvement - Act as the customer-to-product liaison, channeling feature requests into the roadmap and reporting on key pre-sales KPIs to senior leadership
Requirements - Proven track record leading technical pre-sales or sales engineering teams within cybersecurity, ideally in AI security - Strong grasp of cybersecurity principles and AI-driven security solutions, with comfort across cloud DevOps, cloud security, the command line, and APIs - Hands-on familiarity with at least two of the following: Docker, Kubernetes, API integration, Python or other scripting languages, and cloud networking - Demonstrated success running product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical presentations for enterprise audiences - Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical buyers - Self-motivated learner with willingness to travel for client engagements and industry events
