Software Engineer - Test (Puppeteer/Playwright)

Role overview

This quality engineering role owns automated testing for a JavaScript-based SaaS product. You will lead QA initiatives using browser automation and test frameworks, collaborate closely with software developers, and help improve release confidence by finding defects early and measuring reliability. The work combines test design, automation development, regression coverage, defect management, and quality process improvement.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement automated tests using Puppeteer, Playwright, Jest, and related JavaScript tooling. - Create thorough, maintainable test plans and detailed test cases for product functionality. - Reproduce, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution. - Perform regression testing after fixes and verify that changes do not introduce new issues. - Monitor quality indicators and reliability trends to identify areas needing attention. - Partner with software engineers to develop preventive QA practices that reduce defects and support faster delivery.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - At least 3 years of professional quality assurance or test engineering experience. - At least 2 years of experience with JavaScript and Node.js. - At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Puppeteer or Playwright. - Understanding of GraphQL and API-oriented application testing. - Strong ability to structure test coverage, investigate failures, and communicate defects clearly.

Nice to have

- Familiarity with AWS and cloud-native technologies. - Experience working within a core engineering team on web applications involving JavaScript, React, or Node.js.
