Senior Cloud Security Automation & AI Engineer- Remote (Anywhere in the U.S.)

Role overview

Senior engineering role within a cybersecurity consulting practice focused on helping organizations securely adopt, deploy, and govern AI and ML workloads alongside automation pipelines across multi-cloud environments. The position combines hands-on delivery, technical oversight, presales support, and practice development, translating complex security and automation requirements into outcome-driven client solutions. The work spans advisory, implementation, and managed services bridging the gap between innovation and security.

Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end delivery of cloud security automation and AI engagements, including scoping, architecture design, implementation, and client handoff - Design and implement secure agentic AI solutions, including multi-agent orchestration, Model Context Protocol integrations, AI gateway architectures, and policy-based access controls - Architect and enforce AI governance policies covering usage, data handling, model access, and compliance guardrails - Develop and deploy AI-powered security automation such as automated compliance checks, threat detection agents, and remediation workflows - Provide technical oversight and quality assurance across active engagements, including architecture and code reviews - Mentor junior engineers on cloud security, AI/ML implementation, and secure development practices - Support presales activities including discovery calls, demos, proposals, and statements of work - Contribute to practice development through reusable tools, templates, accelerators, reference architectures, and thought leadership content

Requirements

- Significant senior experience in cloud security, automation, and AI/ML implementations - Deep technical depth across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and third-party enterprise AI platforms - Experience with agentic AI design patterns and AI gateway architectures - Background implementing AI governance frameworks and policy-based controls - Strong consulting or professional services delivery experience producing architecture documents, runbooks, SOPs, and security assessment reports - Track record mentoring engineers and conducting architecture and code reviews

Nice to have

- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations - Familiarity with policy-as-code frameworks such as Cedar or OPA - AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification - Practice development, service catalog creation, or go-to-market experience for a consulting or professional services firm
