Role overview A senior security architecture position focused on Security Operations (SecOps) and security data analytics for a regional consulting practice. The role blends presales solution architecture with hands-on technical leadership, helping enterprise and public-sector clients design, modernize, and mature their security operations capabilities. It is remote within the United States with occasional regional travel.
Responsibilities - Lead technical discovery sessions and translate client objectives, constraints, and risks into current-state and target-state architectures across SOC, SIEM, SOAR, observability, and data analytics domains. - Build presales collateral including solution approaches, architecture diagrams, technical presentations, proposals, and responses to formal client requirements. - Define engagement scope, deliverables, assumptions, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and level-of-effort estimates that align delivery risk with expected business outcomes. - Provide architectural oversight and quality review across SecOps engineering and data analytics engagements, mentoring engineers on design accuracy and maintainability. - Evaluate SIEM, SOAR, data pipeline, observability, automation, and AI-enabled security operations technologies against client use cases, integration needs, and existing investments. - Partner with account executives and regional sales teams to qualify opportunities, shape services, and maintain awareness of regional pipeline, delivery capacity, and skills demand.
Requirements - Seven to ten years of experience in security operations, security architecture, SIEM engineering, data engineering, observability, or related consulting fields. - Demonstrated experience designing or leading SIEM, SOAR, security telemetry, data pipelines, observability, or security data analytics programs. - Strong consulting, presales, and executive communication skills, with the ability to lead through influence and apply business and financial acumen to solution design. - Experience working in public cloud environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. - Experience supporting account executives through technical presales, proposal development, and client presentations. - Experience developing service offerings, estimation models, reference architectures, or reusable consulting methodologies.
Nice to have - Background in detection engineering, security automation, or AI-enabled security operations. - Familiarity with large enterprise or federal agency environments and their compliance constraints.
