About this role
Role overview A hands-on engineering role within a consulting delivery model, focused on implementing and optimizing security operations technologies for multiple clients. The position centers on SIEM data engineering, detection content development, and platform operations, with guidance from senior engineers and consultants.
Responsibilities - Configure and support ingestion of security telemetry into SIEM platforms using agents, APIs, syslog, and native integrations - Build parsing and field extraction logic and normalize data into standard schemas such as CIM, ECS, or UDM - Validate data quality across completeness, consistency, and timestamp accuracy - Develop and tune detection rules, map them to MITRE ATT&CK, and refine to reduce false positives - Support SIEM configuration, troubleshoot ingestion and performance issues, and contribute to optimization efforts - Assist with SOAR playbook development, integration between SIEM and endpoint or cloud platforms, and automated enrichment workflows - Participate in client discovery sessions, document current-state architectures, and contribute findings and recommendations
Requirements - High school diploma with 5 years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience - 2 to 5 years in security operations, SIEM engineering, or a closely related field - Hands-on experience with at least one SIEM platform - Exposure to detection engineering or SOC workflows and comfort working with log data and security telemetry - Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across multiple systems - Clear written and verbal communication, with solid documentation and organizational habits - Comfort operating in a client-facing consulting environment and openness to using AI tools to improve delivery
Nice to have - Vendor certifications across SIEM, SOAR, or observability products such as Splunk, Google SecOps, Elastic, XSOAR, Tines, or Cribl
