Managing Security Consultant - Access Management (Remote in the U.S.)

Role overview Lead delivery and technical quality for a portfolio of Access Management engagements in a fully remote, U.S.-based consulting capacity. The position blends people leadership, project governance, and hands-on architectural oversight across identity platforms, serving as the senior escalation point for complex deployments while staying current on emerging technology, including AI-enabled tooling.

Responsibilities - Coordinate timelines, milestones, staffing, and budgets across multiple concurrent Access Management engagements, partnering with project managers on governance, risk tracking, status reporting, and change order management - Review and approve solution architectures, integration designs, and implementation approaches, and conduct periodic technical health checks to surface risk or scope drift - Serve as senior escalation resource for federation, SSO, MFA, adaptive authentication, API security, and Zero Trust access patterns across Ping Identity (PingFederate, PingOne, PingAccess, PingDirectory, DaVinci) and Okta Workforce Identity (Identity Engine, Workflows, API Access Management, Okta Integration Network) - Mentor architects, senior engineers, and engineers, and contribute to presales scoping, estimation, and customer presentations - Build and maintain delivery playbooks, templates, and standard operating procedures for the practice, and coordinate parallel workstreams inside large multi-track engagements - Report on engagement health metrics such as milestone progress, budget burn, and risk indicators, and run corrective action or recovery plans when engagements deviate from plan

Requirements - Deep, hands-on background with Ping Identity and Okta platforms, including Identity Engine, Universal Directory, Workflows, and OIN - Strong command of federation protocols (SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect), SSO architecture, MFA and passwordless strategies, API security, and token management - Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent engagements and delivery teams in a consulting or professional services setting - Proven ability to handle escalations, resolve client concerns, and maintain executive-level relationships, plus resource planning and utilization management - Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders - Willingness to travel up to 20%

Nice to have - Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, CyberArk, SailPoint, or ForgeRock - Professional certifications such as Ping Identity Certified Professional, Okta Certified Professional/Administrator/Consultant, CISSP, CISM, or PMP - Background in incident response or recovery engagements involving IAM platforms, or experience building and scaling an IAM consulting practice
