Job details
About this role
Role overview This is a part-time, remote internship supporting an internal AI and DevSecOps team that runs agentic AI harnesses for production use. The work spans evaluation, telemetry, model and prompt tuning, and governance, with mentorship from experienced practitioners. It suits a learner with a data-oriented mindset who is curious about how applied AI systems perform and fail in real environments.
Responsibilities - Define and run evaluation frameworks that measure accuracy, reliability, and consistency of agentic AI harnesses - Detect regressions, output drift, and behavioral degradation over time through structured evals and benchmark datasets - Analyze failure modes and partner with engineering to drive iterative improvements in harness quality - Instrument harnesses with telemetry capturing latency, token usage, error rates, and output quality signals - Support prompt and model tuning efforts, documenting changes and measuring downstream impact - Contribute to an internal AI governance pipeline, including standards, logging, quality flagging, and audit trails
Requirements - Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a degree program with substantial coursework in data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, or a related field - Proficiency or strong interest in Python, with exposure to libraries such as pandas or numpy, or to LLM APIs - Genuine curiosity about large language models, agentic systems, and how AI performs in applied contexts - Strong analytical and written communication skills with the ability to translate data findings into actionable observations - Comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-moving, practitioner-led environment
Benefits and work setup - Part-time remote paid internship at $20 per hour, running for 12 weeks with potential for full-time conversion - 25-29 hours per week, Monday through Friday, aligned to Eastern Time Zone hours - Must be physically located in the United States with a personal computing device and high-speed internet - Position not open to candidates residing in Alaska, California, Hawaii, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Washington, or Wyoming
