Role overview

A hands-on chief technology role at an early-stage startup building an AI Operating System for agencies. The position blends architectural leadership with shipping code, setting technical direction while personally contributing to the most critical systems. The hire will partner directly with founders to shape product direction and grow the engineering function from the ground up.

Responsibilities

- Define and own the product architecture, data model, and platform boundaries, including reliability and security - Deliver software that helps agencies convert strategy into daily execution while maintaining quality at speed - Establish the engineering quality bar, make technical trade-offs transparent, and represent technical thinking to customers and candidates - Manage the stack, tooling, and hiring roadmap, deciding what to build internally, buy externally, or defer - Create a foundation and repeatable engine: a clear architecture, predictable shipping cadence, measurable quality, and a stack that future hires can extend

Requirements

- Proven ability to combine system-level architecture decisions with hands-on coding - Track record of treating product quality as a business outcome - Experience owning technical strategy end-to-end, from design through delivery - Demonstrated skill in creating early clarity and establishing a working delivery rhythm - Ability to translate domain or customer problems into a platform others can build on

Benefits and work setup

Compensation in the range of €6,500 – €8,500 gross per month, plus equity. The package includes 25 days of leave, pension contributions, a personal equipment allowance, and a learning budget. The role reports into the founders and offers significant strategic influence over product direction, architecture, and hiring decisions, with the opportunity to build engineering from scratch rather than inheriting an existing team.
