Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead frontend-focused product engineering for the services that support customer usage, billing, account management, and related business workflows in a large SaaS platform. The work spans customer portals, backend services, APIs, and integrations, with an approximate 75% frontend and 25% backend balance. You’ll help make complex operational systems reliable and clear for both customers and internal teams.
Responsibilities - Design, build, operate, and improve full-stack applications and account portals for usage and billing workflows. - Develop backend APIs and services, including integrations with internal platforms and third-party business systems. - Improve the reliability, scalability, and usability of systems that support usage calculations, cost management, provisioning, and customer accounts. - Turn complex problems into modular solutions, ship an initial version, and refine it using data and stakeholder feedback. - Mentor less experienced engineers and coordinate plans across squads and external stakeholders. - Make work visible, align requirements early, and incorporate feedback across product and engineering teams.
Requirements - At least one year of experience working fully remotely. - Experience building or operating a large SaaS platform and addressing distributed-systems concerns such as scale, multi-tenancy, data isolation, or high availability. - Strong professional experience with Go or Node.js and modern frontend development using TypeScript and React. - Experience delivering work from requirements and early ideas through release, with a self-directed approach. - Ability to write clean, robust, well-tested software that others can operate and maintain. - Experience mentoring engineers and working effectively across teams in an asynchronous environment.
Nice to have - Strong Kubernetes experience on a major cloud platform and familiarity with infrastructure operations. - Experience with billing, usage metering, customer portals, provisioning, or business-system integrations.
Benefits and work setup - Remote role for candidates based in the United States or Canada, within a global remote-first organization. - Equity compensation, with country-specific pay and benefits discussed during the hiring process. - Annual leave policy of 30 days, including designated company shutdown days, subject to local requirements. - In-person onboarding, career development opportunities, and the option to contribute to open-source projects.
