Flutter Tech Lead

Role overview This leadership role owns the mobile frontend architecture for flagship consumer products serving millions of active users. The position combines hands-on Flutter engineering with strategic technical direction, driving high-throughput, low-latency mobile experiences at scale. It suits an experienced mobile architect who thrives in fast-paced environments and can elevate engineering standards across multiple development teams.

Responsibilities - Define high-level mobile system architecture, ensuring applications remain stable, modular, and performant. - Translate product objectives into technical blueprints and make clear decisions on system trade-offs. - Establish engineering benchmarks for app startup time, memory footprint, and frame rates. - Evaluate emerging mobile technologies and design migration strategies, including native add-to-app integrations. - Lead incident response and root-cause analysis for high-severity production issues. - Diagnose UI jank, memory leaks, and CPU-heavy operations using Dart Isolates, and optimize accordingly. - Partner with product and delivery leaders to align technical roadmaps with release schedules. - Standardize CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and store submission processes across mobile teams. - Mentor engineers through code reviews and support personal development planning.

Requirements - 7+ years in commercial software development with 3+ years focused on Flutter/Dart and hands-on native iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin) experience. - Strong system design skills and deep mastery of Dart internals (isolates, async, null safety) and Flutter's rendering pipeline. - Expertise in state management (Bloc or Riverpod), testing (unit, widget, integration), and monorepos such as Melos. - Experience handling real-time data at scale (WebSockets, long-lived connections, protobuf or JSON serialization) and mobile security baselines. - Demonstrated ability to balance technical quality against delivery speed, with full ownership of decisions and outcomes. - Strong communication skills for collaborating across engineering, product, and operations stakeholders. - Mentorship experience guiding engineers through code reviews, technical roadmaps, and development planning.

Nice to have - Hands-on experience with native add-to-app Flutter integration and incremental migrations from legacy codebases. - Background building CMS-driven or server-driven UI frameworks. - Familiarity with dynamic localization, per-market feature toggles, deep linking at scale, and multi-jurisdictional deployment. - Practical profiling experience using DevTools, the Impeller engine, jank diagnosis, and memory leak isolation. - Knowledge of App Store and Google Play review requirements for regulated gaming and betting applications.
