IT Security and Automation Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A globally distributed, remote-first role focused on automating and securing internal IT infrastructure, with a heavy emphasis on infrastructure-as-code, scripting, and workflow-automation tooling. The position blends hands-on helpdesk work with deep engineering on next-generation IT automation running on Kubernetes. It suits someone who enjoys moving between traditional IT operations and modern systems engineering.
Responsibilities - Build the next generation of IT workflow automation using Temporal and Go running on Kubernetes, with thorough code reviews and an open design process. - Collaborate with the engineering team on dogfooding internal identity-governance and access-policy tooling, surfacing improvements that show up directly in the product. - Harden security and automation for macOS endpoints and integrate with platforms such as Panther, Jamf Pro, Okta, Rippling, and Google Chrome Enterprise. - Write IT automation using Terraform, shell scripts, and Go to provision and manage infrastructure. - Handle traditional IT helpdesk tasks including access requests, lockouts, integrations, and user configuration across tools such as Okta, Rippling, and Zendesk.
Requirements - Willingness to roll up sleeves across traditional IT tasks while also diving deep into Kubernetes and Go with Temporal. - Programming experience in Go; prior experience with Temporal is a bonus. - Linux systems engineering experience plus hands-on Kubernetes exposure. - Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform and solid shell scripting skills. - General IT security and administration background.
Nice to have - Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and platforms such as AWS Redshift, Fivetran, and DBT.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first and globally distributed, with autonomy over day-to-day work. - Extensive health coverage, an annual expense budget, and rest-and-recovery policies designed to support sustained focus. - Retirement savings plans and dedicated professional development opportunities.
