Technical Program Manager, Network Facilities

Role overview This Technical Program Manager role leads complex, often ambiguous programs that shape large-scale network facilities and infrastructure for a fast-growing internet service provider. The position balances near-term delivery with long-term strategy, partnering with engineering and cross-functional leadership to align objectives, drive consistency across workstreams, and influence technical decisions across organizational boundaries. The work spans core, access, and physical network layers in a rapidly evolving environment.

Responsibilities - Define and drive strategic programs that address significant challenges with cross product-area impact across network infrastructure. - Lead efforts to standardize operations, improve efficiency, and capture economies of scale across infrastructure workstreams. - Partner with leadership across multiple functions to reconcile differing objectives and enable collaboration across organizational boundaries. - Build and implement solutions that improve operational effectiveness, identify process breakdowns, and respond dynamically to change. - Develop technical roadmaps and white papers alongside engineering stakeholders to provide data-driven influence on technical decision-making. - Coach, mentor, and guide team members while setting best practices for program management across the organization.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 5 years of experience in a service-provider or enterprise network with competency in core and/or access networking concepts, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, ELINE/ELAN/EVPN, and physical layer technologies such as fiber optics, DWDM, transceivers, and AC/DC power systems. - 2 years of technical program management (or equivalent) experience leading complex, cross-functional, high-impact programs. - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective program teams and establish best practices that drive continuous improvement. - Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%.

Nice to have - Proficiency instantiating highly scalable core and access networks in an active service-provider or enterprise environment. - Direct experience provisioning, operating, or troubleshooting Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Nokia, or Ciena equipment in a service-provider or medium-to-large enterprise setting. - Familiarity with basic network space planning, including rack face elevations, floorplans, and electrical and heat density considerations. - Experience leading and managing program portfolios across broader organizations or product areas. - Strong technical judgment with experience influencing architectural and structural decisions, and turning systemic issues into long-term transformational initiatives.
