1159 - Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

Role overview

Build and operate a financial technology product across web, mobile, APIs, and background services. The role spans full-stack development, data modeling, integrations, security-sensitive workflows, and AI features that work with users’ financial information. You’ll also take responsibility for production reliability and carefully review AI-generated code.

Responsibilities

- Develop features across a TypeScript monorepo containing a web app, API, mobile app, and edge worker. - Evolve a shared PostgreSQL data model and manage its schema changes with Prisma. - Build and maintain webhook handlers, queued message processing, and scheduled jobs, accounting for retries and partial failures. - Protect financial and chat data through encryption, user-level access controls, and authentication across web and mobile. - Build AI capabilities such as tool use over financial data, persistent memory, and proactive insights. - Own production issues, review generated code, and document incidents and their causes.

Requirements

- At least 6 years of software engineering experience, including 3 or more years shipping TypeScript and Node.js backends. - Experience at a company handling money, bank data, or card data, such as payments, banking infrastructure, lending, or payroll. - Strong PostgreSQL skills, including safe production migrations, indexing, transactions, and query analysis. - Practical experience with asynchronous systems, including idempotency, retries, webhook deduplication, and jobs that fail partway through. - Security-minded handling of personal information, encryption, authentication tokens, and least-privilege access. - Previous ownership of production systems, including on-call work, error investigation, and root-cause write-ups. - Regular use of AI coding tools, with the judgment to identify and correct their errors. - Written English suitable for clear pull request descriptions and incident reports.

Nice to have

- Production experience with bank-data integrations, including webhooks, account re-authentication, or transaction synchronization. - Production experience with language models, including tool use, evaluation, and cost or latency management. - Experience with modern Next.js and React Server Components, Expo or React Native, messaging compliance, or subscription billing.

Benefits and work setup

This is a full-time contract role, paid through a payroll platform, and performed remotely from Latin America. The stated monthly compensation range is USD 3,000–3,200, depending on experience and skills.
