Staff Enterprise Architect

Role overview This Staff-level role focuses on the architecture of a company's internal business systems rather than customer-facing products. Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Architecture, the architect operates across all four lenses (business, application, data, and technology) and treats AI as a built-in consideration in every design. The work centers on translating enterprise-wide direction into build-ready designs for the most complex technical problems in the organization.

Responsibilities - Map current-state capabilities and processes to supporting systems, owners, and systems of record, identifying friction, manual handoffs, and duplication that AI or automation could eliminate. - Architect end-to-end processes spanning front-office and back-office systems, including new product introduction, CPQ and quote-to-cash, billing, renewals, and record-to-report. - Redesign workflows before automating them, deciding explicitly which steps belong with an AI agent, deterministic automation, or a human. - Produce high-level designs and patterns for platforms such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Zuora, and Zendesk, favoring configuration and supported extensions over bespoke code. - Apply sound design-for-operability practices including service ownership, observability, integration error handling, and runbooks. - Review work in an Architecture Review Board setting, acting as an enabler rather than a gatekeeper for delivery teams.

Requirements - Extensive experience applying multiple architecture lenses (business, application, data, technology) across complex enterprise environments. - Deep familiarity with one or more major platforms in the scope, including Salesforce, NetSuite, Zuora, or Zendesk. - Track record of partnering with engineering, integration, RPA, and intelligent automation teams to deliver integrated solutions. - Ability to design for maintainability, supportability, and realistic total cost of ownership. - Comfort using AI as a standing consideration inside every architecture decision rather than treating it as a separate stream. - Strong influence and communication skills, since the role leads through architecture rather than direct reports.

Nice to have - Experience designing AI-augmented workflows or integrating AI agents into business processes. - Familiarity with how enterprise architecture supports developer productivity and security/compliance outcomes.
