Principal Engineer, Duo Agent Platform

Role overview This is a principal-level engineering role focused on an agent platform, shaping the technical direction of systems that enable agent-based workflows. The position is fully remote and open to candidates across Canada, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It combines deep individual contribution with cross-team technical leadership in a globally distributed organization.

Responsibilities - Define the technical strategy and architecture for the agent platform - Drive initiatives that span multiple product areas and engineering teams - Mentor engineers and raise the bar for code quality and system design - Prototype and validate new approaches to agent orchestration and tooling - Partner with product and research counterparts on long-term platform direction

Requirements - Extensive experience designing and operating large-scale, distributed systems - Background in AI or machine learning platforms, agent frameworks, or related infrastructure - Track record of technical leadership across teams or organizations - Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-regional collaboration - Ability to operate with autonomy in a remote-first environment

Nice to have - Experience with LLM orchestration, autonomous agents, or related ecosystems - Open-source contributions in the agent or AI tooling space
