Role overview
A field-facing technical specialist role supporting connected vehicle and IoT telematics customers, installers, and internal product teams. The position blends hands-on installation expertise, technical support, training, and product design collaboration in a fast-paced environment. International travel up to 40% is expected.
Responsibilities
- Provide design support to the New Product team by analyzing user requirements, defining product specifications, and running field and simulation testing - Support customers, sales teams, resellers, and installation partners with technical specifications, wiring schematics, and real-time troubleshooting - Create and implement installer certification tests, conduct audits, and evaluate installer performance against quality standards - Update installation documents, product guides, and training modules with the latest product information - Demonstrate installations in the field and partner with Learning and Development to keep documentation current - Stay current with advances in automotive, electronics, cellular, GPS, and serial-data technologies
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience - 3-5 years of hands-on experience with automotive and electronics installation, troubleshooting, and technical support - Proficiency with automotive and electronics test equipment and hand tools - Knowledge of communications systems and networks, including cellular, GPS, and serial data - Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 40% of the time
