The position bridges product development, field installations, and customer-facing technical support for commercial fleet telematics solutions. The specialist helps ensure hardware is designed, installed, and maintained to high standards across a diverse customer base.
Responsibilities
- Provide design support to new product teams, including translating user requirements into product specifications and validating concepts through field and simulation testing. - Assist customers and resellers with technical specifications, data requirements, and integration details for telematics product offerings. - Equip sales teams with technical applications and implementation guidance tied to customer requirements. - Support installation partners and certified installers in real time, supplying wiring schematics and installation specifications. - Build and maintain installer certification tests, training modules, and updated product documentation. - Conduct installer performance audits, field quality reviews, and on-site demonstration or pilot installations when needed. - Monitor advances in automotive and connectivity technology and propose innovative improvements.
Requirements
- Technical diploma or degree in electronics, electrical, mechanical, or automotive engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - Background in vehicle electrical systems, telematics hardware, or related automotive electronics installation. - Hands-on proficiency with automotive and electronics test equipment and hand tools. - Working knowledge of communication systems and networks, including cellular, GPS, and serial data. - Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a customer-service orientation. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. - Willingness to travel internationally up to 40% of the time.
