About this role
Role overview Lead business analytics for a subscription-based media business, turning subscription, revenue, and customer data into strategic insight for marketing and executive leadership. The role spans hands-on quantitative analysis, cross-functional project leadership, and stakeholder communication across a fast-moving commercial organization.
Responsibilities - Maintain clear visibility into recurring revenue, trial conversion, ARPU, customer lifetime value, acquisition costs, channel performance, and cohort behavior to inform strategic decisions. - Build customer personas, segmentations, and look-alike audiences that sharpen acquisition targeting and establish retention and engagement benchmarks. - Lead high-visibility initiatives aimed at incremental revenue and cost reduction, partnering with senior leadership to model pricing, market penetration, and new-product opportunities. - Develop frameworks and predictive models that identify, monitor, and grow relationships with the most valuable customer segments, including churn and upsell forecasting. - Use SQL, R, and Python to perform advanced quantitative analysis and build data visualizations, dashboards, and reports (including Tableau) for ongoing recommendations. - Serve as the internal authority on web and campaign analytics, partnering with data engineering on schema design and reporting structures, and presenting findings to senior leadership.
Requirements - Master's degree in Data Science or a closely related quantitative field. - At least 2 years of prior experience as a Data Analyst. - Strong SQL, R, and Python skills for advanced data analysis and visualization. - Proficiency with Tableau or comparable dashboarding tools. - Deep familiarity with web analytics platforms and campaign attribution. - Demonstrated ability to translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for marketing and executive audiences.
Nice to have - Experience with customer lifetime value modeling, cohort analysis, and predictive churn or upsell models. - Background partnering with data engineering on reporting architecture and table design.
Benefits and work setup - On-site role based in New York, NY. - Base salary range of $120,000–$170,000 per year.
