Role overview
Join a payments engineering team as a contract senior developer building new capabilities for US payment processing. The role covers the full delivery lifecycle: shaping technical solutions, implementing and testing resilient services, preparing releases, and supporting production systems. You will work primarily in Go on a cloud-native platform designed for high-volume, regulated financial transactions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement payment gateway functionality, including payment flows, scheme-specific behavior, validation, error handling, and operational controls. - Create comprehensive automated integration tests and contribute to reliable delivery through engineering and CI/CD practices. - Collaborate with product and engineering colleagues to clarify requirements, assess trade-offs, and validate implementation decisions. - Produce technical designs, implementation plans, testing evidence, deployment guidance, operational procedures, and runbooks. - Address resilience, performance, disaster recovery, failure-mode testing, and production-readiness requirements. - Improve monitoring, alerting, telemetry, and observability, and support deployment, launch validation, and post-release issue resolution.
Requirements
- Strong experience designing and building distributed systems. - Professional experience developing software with Go and applying sound software engineering practices. - Ability to solve complex problems where performance, robustness, and operational reliability are essential. - Familiarity with cloud and containerization technologies, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines. - Interest in owning work end to end, including operational support after release. - A practical approach to selecting the right tool for each problem and maintaining clean, maintainable code.
