Role overview A senior embedded software engineering role focused on an onsite control computer that orchestrates EV chargers, batteries, generators, meters, and utility programs at customer sites. The position sits at the intersection of firmware and full-stack product work, helping shape the technical direction of an EV charging and energy management platform while contributing to a sustainability-focused infrastructure product.
Responsibilities - Develop and evolve an onsite controller that integrates EV chargers with on-site batteries, generators, meters, and utility programs - Upgrade embedded Linux systems, including build tooling (Yocto or comparable), bootloaders, and board bring-up - Improve firmware and full-stack layers of an energy management platform, including features that help sites participate in utility demand-response programs - Build major features end-to-end and incorporate direct customer feedback into product direction - Contribute to the technical vision and engineering culture of a fast-moving team - Use modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery
Requirements - 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience - 2+ years of firmware development experience - Hands-on experience with embedded Linux systems, build tooling such as Yocto, bootloaders, and board bring-up - Comfort working across firmware, hardware-adjacent, and full-stack product development as needed - Track record of delivering products and features end-to-end on a high-velocity engineering team - Enthusiasm for applying AI tools to software development workflows
