About this role
Role overview A senior user experience researcher is needed to lead mixed-methods research within a fast-growing product organization that builds automated data movement infrastructure. The role partners closely with design, product, and analytics teams to translate deep customer understanding into everyday design and product strategy decisions. This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of Oakland, CA or Denver, CO, with two in-office days each week, reporting to the Director of UX Research.
Responsibilities - Plan, manage, and execute user research programs across focused product areas from scoping through synthesis and delivery. - Partner with design, product, and analytics stakeholders to shape research questions and projects that balance user needs with business goals. - Coach product and design partners on research methodology, question framing, and best practices so they can confidently run their own studies. - Surface emerging customer and user needs to inform the development of new products and capabilities. - Synthesize insights from prior research and analytics data into compelling narratives and lead ideation sessions that move teams to action.
Requirements - Demonstrated experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative research in a product context. - A strong portfolio showing research philosophy, process, and measurable impact. - An entrepreneurial, self-motivated mindset with a bias toward action and the ability to lead projects through ambiguity. - Strong storytelling and presentation skills that influence stakeholders at multiple levels. - Genuine curiosity about users and how the product contributes to their success. - Hands-on experience using AI tools to plan studies, synthesize feedback, and work more efficiently.
Nice to have - Background working in the data, analytics, or data infrastructure industry. - Experience with survey design, quantitative analysis, data visualization, and tools such as SQL.
