About this role

Role overview A Network Engineer II position operating in a 24/7 software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment supporting complex LAN infrastructure initiatives. The role takes ownership of troubleshooting, drives automation strategy, leads technical response during incidents, and mentors junior engineers while representing the network domain to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities - Own end-to-end troubleshooting of complex LAN connectivity, firewall policy, and load balancer issues, coordinating resolution with internal teams and customers. - Lead and coordinate response to network and security incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning. - Drive LAN infrastructure projects across Cisco Nexus switching, Palo Alto firewalls, F5 load balancers, and NDFC fabric management, including next-generation data center fabric architectures using VXLAN, EVPN, and AI/ML-enabled networking. - Develop automation strategy and execution using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and CI/CD pipelines for provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and automated remediation. - Manage network security infrastructure including routing policies, firewall rules, vulnerability management, capacity planning, lifecycle management, and certificate administration. - Define, measure, and report SLIs/SLOs using observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, and SolarWinds.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of experience in medium-to-large production networks covering IP routing, switching, and security principles. - Deep hands-on expertise with Palo Alto firewalls, F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM, iRules, SSL offloading), and Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k with NX-OS, NDFC, and VXLAN/EVPN fabrics. - Strong knowledge of LAN protocols including OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and STP/RSTP, plus SDN experience with OpenStack Neutron and Calico. - Proven automation experience with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have - Telecommunications experience including VoIP, RTP, SIP peering/trunking, and SBC.
