Software Engineer, Quality & Automation

Role overview This role owns quality and automation for large enterprise deployments of a SaaS and platform-as-a-service product used by assurance and audit practitioners. The team is building its QA function around agentic tooling, using AI agents to handle the repetitive work of reproducing, routing, and resolving bugs while strengthening internal testing. The position is hired across multiple levels, from individual contributor to senior and staff, with scope calibrated during interviews based on demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities - Keep multi-tenant SaaS and single-tenant PaaS environments consistent so behavior matches across deployments and configuration drift does not become a defect. - Build and run agentic automation that triages, reproduces, and routes bugs without human handoff, and use the same tooling to resolve bugs by shipping fixes directly. - Run pre-release bug bashes on new features and turn the practice into something other teams can adopt. - Own bug reporting and communication, including severity-weighted trends, hotspots, and quality-direction updates trusted by engineering leadership and the customer. - Work directly with enterprise customers to integrate with their issue reporting and validation processes. - Improve internal automated testing for higher-value coverage, more trusted CI signal, and reduced flakiness. - Close the loop from a customer-reported issue back to the test or environment check that would have caught it. - Support agent quality evaluation by creating and curating relevant datasets.

Requirements - Production software engineering experience with real responsibility for shipping code, not only tests. - Hands-on experience building test automation and CI quality gates that engineers actually rely on. - Real-world use of AI or agentic tooling as part of day-to-day work. - Experience working directly with customers or enterprise users on issues they care about. - Comfort operating in ambiguity and owning outcomes without a defined queue of incoming work.

Nice to have - Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Hasura, or GraphQL. - End-to-end or integration frameworks such as Playwright or Cypress. - Experience with both multi-tenant SaaS and single-tenant or self-managed enterprise deployments. - Infrastructure exposure for environment parity work, such as AWS, Kubernetes, or Terraform. - Observability and tracing tooling such as Datadog. - Experience building agentic workflows or internal tooling with large language models. - Performance and load testing experience, particularly on long-running workflows. - Familiarity with regulated environments such as SOC 2 or FedRAMP, or background in audit, accounting, or financial services.
