Senior Software Engineer, Edge Security

Role overview A staff-level backend engineering role on a security products group responsible for building and maintaining security-focused products for an edge cloud platform. The work centers on large-scale web application backend systems, primarily written in Go, supporting network security capabilities that customers rely on to protect their infrastructure.

Responsibilities - Develop backend systems for large-scale web applications as part of a collaborative engineering team, primarily in Go. - Write clean, modular, and resilient code that meets functional and non-functional requirements. - Partner closely with teammates and adjacent technical and product groups to coordinate delivery. - Participate in code reviews, maintain documentation, and contribute to shared team processes. - Optimize and tune code for performance, reliability, and scale.

Requirements - 6+ years of enterprise software development experience. - Deep knowledge of HTTP and related networking protocols such as Varnish or H2O. - Strong interest in network security and secure software design. - Hands-on experience developing and operating backend systems for web applications. - Track record of working in collaborative, distributed team environments. - Strong Linux, automation, and shell scripting skills.

Nice to have - Prior experience building security solutions end to end. - Expertise building with Kubernetes. - Experience managing hybrid cloud environments that combine data centers with public cloud.
